Who I am…
Welcome and thank you so much for being on my website !
As you probably understood, my name is Méziane and I am based in France, in Paris, where I was born and where I have always lived, except for a “quick” but still important step of my life when I was in Spain, in Barcelona, for a year.
At the moment, photography is not my main activity, but I spend more and more time on it, in my everyday life or in a private sphere because we should never forget that above all of this, family moments are the most precious and important.
Also, of course, the trips, which my wife and I cherish so much, represent a very important part of pictures which go through the sensor of my camera.
My journey into photography…
I never thought that one day I’ll become a photographer, or even and enthusiastic photographer.
I didn’t know that it would become for me the opportunity to have a new way to speak out, a way to share my vision of things, to communicate differently. A unique way to tell my journey, my travels, my stories or at least those I come across.
I believe I have always been very observant of the environment around me. I always pay a lot of attention on what I hear and what I see. A lot of information comes to me, as for everyone else, every day. But each one of us has his own way to filter and select, depending on what is appeals and touches us. And when it comes to me, I think that among these informations are a few rare moments for which I finally felt the need to shoot.
This helps me to sort out, to retain only the essentials and to highlight what I want to.
At the very beginning after discovering my first camera, it was only to take simple vacation photos. But then, I quickly wanted to train myself in order to associate the artistic side I was already experiencing every day, and the technical side, which is certainly not the priority but still necessary for self-confidence , to master its pretty complex gear and to progress.
I first tried many different styles, such as studio or natural light portraiture, product or event photography, which I really liked and I enjoyed learning. But it’s finally towards travel and street photography that I take the biggest pleasure photographing everyday. This is what makes sens to me, where I find the inspiration and which pushes me to share my always evolving work with you.

However,
I am still always very open to work on any project related to photography, especially if I believe I really have something valuable to bring.

Talking about gear…
Yes, gear is definitely not the most important in photography. Actually it is probably not important at all when it comes to create great images. But still, I believe that every photographer has a kind of a “geeky” monster inside, which has the curiosity to know who uses what.
On my side, after starting with a micro 4/3 Panasonic Gx80 (Gx85), which actually belonged to my wife and which I probably used a bit too much, I finally chose to invest in the Fujifilm’s APS-C hyprid ecosystem, for many great reasons. At this point, I am currently using :
– Fujifilm XT3 as my “professional” camera with the Xf16mm F1.4, Xf35mm F1.4 and Xf50mm F2 lenses.
– Fujifilm X100V and iPhone 12 Pro Max as my everyday cameras.
