Cuba

At the time of writing, Cuba has undoubtedly been the most exotic destination that I have had the opportunity to visit. Not because I was lost in a dangerous jungle or anything like that but mainly thanks to the wonderful culture and variety of situations I found there. It was in 2018, and I was able to complete a 2-week journey with the idea of being able to discover some of the iconic places of the island. Among them, La Havana, of course, but also Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, or the magnificent Trinidad which was undoubtedly my biggest favorite.
Cuba will certainly change, modernize and evolve. It is a fact, and it is quite normal. I am therefore very happy to have been able to visit it at a time when I still found its old iconic cars, its local culture, its music and its street dances, the kindness, the welcome and the joy of living Cubans have. But I also found a nature that is still very incredible by going a little deeper into the land. I had the feeling of living another era, those that we see in films or in black and white books, but to see it in real life, and in color. And what colors ! During this stay, I literally took a leap in time, and my eyes were lost, for their good, in a countless number of scenes, smiles, rare but also sometimes striking moments that I haven’t lived anywhere else.
Looking at my photographs, I feel a lot of gratitude at the idea of having been able to immortalize all these scenes. I am convinced that they will affect me even more tomorrow than today, and that they will more and more meaningful over the years. I am so happy to be able to say that I have seen and photographed Cuba, which is an amazing opportunity for a travel and street photographer like myself. This trip made me grow a lot in my photography as well as on the personal side, and it is definitely this kind of travel which reminds me the essence and importance of our passion.

“Traveling, it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”
